I'd like to surprise my boyfriend with a long weekend away. What can you suggest for a relaxing mind-and-body getaway, within driving range or a two-hour flight from Phoenix?

For a nearby escape, consider Sedona, Arizona, which is only about a two-hour drive from Phoenix. (Take the I-17 freeway north to Hwy-179). The area has a relaxed, hip feel to it, with spectacular red rock formations, art galleries, shops, New Age boutiques and excellent hiking in Red Rock State Park.

And why not stay at a quaint bed and breakfast while you're there? In Sedona, try the Apple Orchard Inn (800-663-6968), which overlooks Wilson Mountain and Steamboat Rock, and has six rooms with Jacuzzi tubs and a massage therapist on call. Or the Briar Patch Inn (888-809-3030), which has cottages with fireplaces, shaded patios and a massage gazebo, built along the wooded banks of the Oak Creek River.
