According to best-selling author Cherie Carter-Scott,
the strongest relationships are built on self-love
By Christine Shen
The Rule of Self-Love
During the mad rush of infatuation that electrifies a new relationship,
a crucial factor that could determine if the new love sinks or swims
often gets little or no attention: your self. For those searching
for their "other half" and whose romantic relationships
continually fizzle out, its easy to repeat the same patterns
of failure in future relationships if they base their expectations
on the object of their desires, not on themselves.
They dont realize that "only you can make yourself complete,"
says personal growth coach and best-selling author Dr.
Cherie Carter-Scott. That is why she emphasizes the rule "You
must love yourself first" in her book "If
Love is a Game, These are the Rules," which explains how
to build substantive love relationships using 10 simple principles.
"You must learn to focus on yourself first because your relationship
with yourself is the foundation for all your other relationships,"
says Carter-Scott.
