For the last 10 years Lisa Habicht has been the owner and President of Grand Luxe
International, Inc., a certified travel agency catering to clients
who are looking for the wedding of their dreams in magnificent locations
at destinations abroad.
In the mid-80s Lisa had just graduated from college and was studying
and traveling around Europe, wondering what path her life should
take. By chance she was introduced to a well-known director of a
Tuscan property management firm. He proposed that Lisa establish
the U.S. representation of the firm and almost immediately she had
not only a new career, but her own company as well. Initially Lisa's
company, Grand Luxe International, rented exclusive historical castles,
villas and farmhouses to American clients. As time went by, Lisa
discovered these locations and others she uncovered to be magical
destinations for weddings. Now, with her years of experience in
the business Lisa feels at home in parts of Europe known only to
insiders. Whether it's a 17th century Venetian palazzo, one of the
great European hotels such as the Ville d'Este, a Tuscan castle
on a hill or an exotic island hideaway, she has the contacts and
the know-how to make even the grandest wedding dreams come true.
"Outstanding locations provide the extra ingredient necessary,"
says Lisa, "to turn the event into a magical experience."
She and her multilingual staff at Grand Luxe have arranged beautiful
ceremonies and receptions in Italy, Greece, Austria, Germany, Denmark
and Kenya, and Lisa has the necessary contacts to hold an incredible
event almost any place in the world a couple desires. Lisa has organized
weddings featured in "Travel Leisure," "Bride's Magazine," "Conde
Nast Traveler" and the "New York Times". Grand Luxe can handle everything
for a multi-day event, including travel arrangements, accommodations,
legal issues, officiates, reception dinners, cocktail parties, catering,
flowers and photography, and even provides an experienced English
speaking local delegate at the destination who will help the couple
and their guests with any last minute arrangements.
