Whenever I've felt down on myself, I do a fun or unusual activity. Sometimes this would be something that would bring new knowledge about myself. When my boyfriend of several years moved away for a job, I felt a part of me had left, too, and really lonely. So I took an acting class, met very unique and fun people, and killed my shyness (mostly) of speaking in front of large groups of people. The main benefit was that I felt better about myself because I learned to depend on myself for entertaining and connecting to others, which I used look to my boyfriend to do. So I suggest finding a activity that's different from your normal walk of life or just plain fun that will reveal something about yourself to you. Anyone else out there have a suggestion?
